Staff Contact Record Edit access has been restricted to certain profiles or users. The rules are currently as follows:

A User can update certain attributes of a Staff Contact Record if:

  1. They are the User on the Staff Contact (their own contact record)

  2. They are the Reports To Manager of the Contact

  3. Their User Profile is System Administrator or My Support People & Culture

These rules are configured by a Custom Metadata Type Setting and a custom trigger.

Custom Metadata Type Configuration

The Allowed To Update Contact Records CMT record can be updated to add Profiles or new fields. In the setting, Profiles and Contact fields are specified. To edit these settings, go to:

  1. Setup Menu

  2. Search for Custom Metadata Types

  3. Select Allowed To Update Contact Records

  4. Click Manage Allowed To Update Contact Records

  5. Update the Profile Name Section

  6. Update the Fields Section

    1. Note, you must reference the API name of the Contact Field
