Field Service Data Template

Field Service Data Template

With every Field Service implementation there are some standard data areas that need to be uploaded into the system to make the system operational for your business.

A read-only version of the Field Service Data Template can be found here and a summary of the data areas detailed in the template is available in the table below.

Data Area

Description

Service Territories

Service Territories are geographical areas that are configured in FSL to help facilitate scheduling processes, team management and reporting.

More information about Service Territories can be found here.

Work Types

Work Types are configured to define the different areas of work that are being delivered by your organisation and the skills required to do so.

Work Types are linked to Products in the Health Care extensions so that Skills and related Work Plans can be inherited when a Product is assigned to a Work Order.

More information about Work Types can be found here.

Skills

Skills are created in the system to represent the specific skills that are required to deliver the Work Types

Based on skill requirements specified for a Work Type or a particular client’s needs, skills will be inherited by the Work Order to ensure an appropriate Service Resource is matched to complete the work.

More information about Skills can be found here.

Operating Hours

Operating Hours can be assigned at the Service Territory to define the default hours for the territory and Service Territory Member level to define specific hours for a territory member.

More information about Operating Hours can be found here.

Time Slots

Time Slots are added to Operating Hours to define the specific slots on each day of the week that the team is operational.

More information about Time Slots can be found here.

Service Resources

Service Resources are created to represent each member of staff that is operational in Field Service, this is where we can assign Skills, add Service Territory memberships and define the staff members role.

More information about Service Resources can be found here.

Resource Skills

Resource Skills define the Skills that are allocated to a Service Resource to enable matching of that resource to Work Orders where the skills are required.
