Locations in AnimalOS are used to manage housing of Animals, they work in a hierarchy to identify where the Animal is located. Salesforce Record Types are used to manage the dataset at each level of the hierarchy.

  • Onsite Hierarchy: Site > Block > Unit

  • Foster Hierarchy: Site > Foster

  • Offsite Hierarchy: Offsite

Animals can be moved to different Locations using Movements.

The diagram below details the hierarchical relationship used within the Location and it’s relationship to Animals and Contacts (Fosters).


Quick Walkthrough

Accessing Location Records

Locations can be accessed via the Locations tab, you can access filtered list views to refine the search by the different Record Types (Sites, Blocks, Units, Foster, Offsite).


Location Page Layout

From the Location layout you will see details about the Location, information on capacity and can click into Sub Location records.

Animal Current Location

From an Animal record you will see an animal's current location via the Location Information section.

Animal Movements

From the Movements section on the Animal record you can choose to move the Animal to a different Location and see a history of Animal Locations.
