Creating a Stripe Subscription

This guide will walk through the steps to create a Stripe Subscription. A Stripe Subscription is used when a Contact wants to donate by Credit Card.

Finding the Create Stripe Subscription button
The Create Stripe Subscription button can be found on a Contact’s Recurring Donation page near the top-right of the screen under Stripe Status.
Creating a Stripe Customer
To create a customer in Stripe, simply click on the Create Stripe Customer button.
A notification will appear confirming that a Stripe Customer has been created.
Entering a Stripe Payment Method and Initial Payment Date
Select either Credit Card or BECS Direct Debit for the Stripe Payment Method and enter in the banking details in the required fields.
Once entered, a notification will appear confirming that a Stripe Payment Method has been selected.
Next, select which date that the Initial Payment will be received in the field under Initial Payment Date.
Click the Create a Stripe Plan and Subscription button, and a notification will appear confirming that a Stripe Plan and a Stripe Subscription has been created and will also include a Subscription ID.
It will also notify you that the Recurring Donation has been updated with the new Stripe credentials.
Viewing the Stripe Status
Once finished, the Stripe Status will show that the Recurring Donation is synced with a Stripe Subscription and available to view on the Recurring Donation page. From here, it is possible to view an Upcoming Payment and when it will be processed.
