Adoption Readiness

An Animal’s adoption readiness can be managed from the Adoption and Health Tabs on the Animal Record.

When the Animal is ready for adoption, the Animal Status can be updated to Available For Adoption, which will then send the Animal’s details to the website and will appear on the Adopt-A-Pet site.

Managing the adoption readiness of an Animal:

1. Go to an Animal Record and go to the Adoption Tab on the layout. You will see an adoption readiness progress bar across the top of the section, this bar looks at the animal’s Behaviour information as well as the Adoption Health Ready checkbox to calculate the percentage in the progress bar. It will provide a list of fields to review to help improve the percentage.

2. The Health Tab contains a range of different health attributes to be managed, the only one that contributes to the Adoption Progress Bar is the Adoption Health Ready checkbox. A user will need to manage this information and tick the checkbox when the animal is ready.

3. Under the Profile Tab you can complete the animal’s profile which will help to find suitable contact matches.

    

4. Contact Records have a similar profile to the animal to help find matches based on Rehoming Requirements, Residency Preference, Suitable For Children, etc. You can use the Contact Matches Tab to find suitable matches.

   1. Note that the current matching logic is quite basic and we can extend this based on feedback.

       

5. When the Animal is ready for adoption, the Animal Status can be updated to Available For Adoption in the Details section of the record. The animal details will then be sent to the website so the animal can appear on the Adopt-A-Pet site.
