Animal Movements

Animal Movements are used to record animal movements whilst the animal is in the care of RSPCA - these records will track movements to different units, movements to foster carers and movements to different shelters.

Moving an Animal to a different unit within RSPCA:

  1. When a new animal is created in the Animalis and is being housed in a RSPCA shelter, there’s a need to create a Movement record to reflect the unit where the animal is staying. Go to the Movements tab on the Animal Record to initiate this process.

2. You have the option of scheduling the movement for later if needed, using the Scheduled Movement section of the page.

3. To move the animal into a unit, use the movement flow by selecting the Type of Movement - select Housed in Shelter(s).

a. Tasks do not need to be generated, so you can toggle this off.

4. After clicking Next you will go to the next screen and can select from a list of available units in RSPCA. You will need to follow the naming conventions to find units at your location.

5. When you complete the flow, you will see a new entry in the Movements Related List to represent the current location of the animal and the flow will reset back to the start.

6. If you go back to the Details Tab of the animal, you will see details of the current location of the animal, which are also updated each time you use the Movements flow to change the location of the animal.
