Overview

The Shelter Capacity Dashboard in AnimalOS provides an overview of the current shelter capacity. This tool helps shelter managers track occupancy levels across different animal types and shelter locations. By understanding capacity, managers can make informed decisions about intake, adoptions, and overall resource allocation.

Accessing the Dashboard

1. Navigate to Shelter Management.

2. Click on the Capacity tab.

3. The dashboard will display various charts summarising the shelter's current capacity status.

AnimalOS Type Capacity Status

• This bar chart shows the percentage capacity for different animal types across various shelter locations.

• Each bar represents the shelter's current occupancy percentage.

• Locations with over 100% capacity indicate that they are exceeding their available space.

• Data Source: This chart pulls data from AnimalOS Capacity Records, calculating allocations against total adjusted capacity.

AnimalOS Type Capacity Status by Species

• Displays the total number of animals in care by species (e.g., Canine, Feline, Horses & Livestock, Pocket Pets).

• Helps managers understand which species are taking up the most space.

• Data Source: Based on current shelter records, grouped by species type.

Shelter Row Actions & Availability

• Lists the available capacity at different shelter locations.

• Divided into Dog, Cat, and Pocket Pet Blocks, showing:

  • Adjusted Capacity (total available space)

  • Allocation (occupied units)

  • Vacant Units (remaining available space)

• Data Source: Pulled from shelter unit records, tracking the allocation of animals in different areas of the shelter.
