Creating a Recurring Donation

This guide will walk through the steps to create a Recurring Donation. Recurring Donations are used when a Contact wants to make multiple donations over a period of time.

What’s on this page

Finding the Donate button

The Recurring Donations tab can be found along the top of the screen, under the Search bar. To create a new recurring donation, click on the New button on the top-right corner of the screen.

Alternatively, you can also create a new recurring donation by clicking on the Related tab whilst viewing a Contact’s page. To create a new recurring donation, click on the New button on the top-right corner of the Recurring Donations box.

Select a Donor

Select a Donor Type, Contact and Date Established for the Recurring Donation.

Note: the Donor Information fields will have already been filled, if New Recurring Donation was accessed directly from a Contact’s page.

Entering the Donation Information

Enter the amount of the recurring donation and whether the Recurring Donation Type is Open or Fixed.

Note: Open Recurring Type means that the recurring donations will be ongoing until cancelled. Fixed Recurring Type means that the donation will have a fixed amount of instalments and the donation will cease after that number of instalments.

Enter the Day of the Month the donation will be processed and the Effective Date. Select the Payment Method.

Filling out the Other Information

Give the Recurring Donation a name, and link it to a Campaign. When done, click on Save.

Viewing the Recurring Donation

To view the recurring donation, click on the Related tab and find the donation under Recurring Donation.

Clicking on the Recurring Donation will show all the details of the Donation, such as when the next donation date is and how many times that donor has donated so far.
