Assessments
Overview
Assessments in AnimalOS are used to manage a range of records, including Health Checks, Behaviour Observations, and Behaviour Evaluations. These assessments help track an animal’s health, behaviour, and overall well-being while in care. The Assessments data table provides a central location for all assessment records, ensuring that users can easily access and update critical information.
📌 Tip: Regularly updating assessments ensures that animal records remain accurate and provide valuable insights into their condition and behaviour.
1. Accessing Assessments
To view an animal’s Assessments, navigate to the Animal Record and locate the Assessments section. This area displays all recorded assessments related to the animal, categorized by type.
📌 Tip: Filtering assessments by type (e.g., Health Checks or Behaviour Observations) can help users find specific records quickly.
2. Adding a New Assessment
To add a new Assessment:
Navigate to the Animal Record.
Click on the More tab and select Add Assessment.
Choose the appropriate Assessment Type (e.g., Health Check, Behaviour Observation).
Fill in the necessary details, such as Assessment Date, Observer, and Notes.
Click Save to record the assessment.
📌 Tip: Ensure that the Assessment Date reflects when the assessment was actually conducted, not just the date it is being recorded.
3. Health Checks
Health Checks document medical evaluations conducted on an animal. These checks can include:
Routine medical assessments
Pre-adoption evaluations
Post-treatment follow-ups
📌 Tip: Health Checks should be updated after any major medical intervention to ensure accurate record-keeping.
4. Behaviour Observations
Behaviour Observations track an animal’s behaviour over time, helping to identify patterns or changes in temperament. These assessments can be used for:
Monitoring stress levels
Identifying aggression or anxiety triggers
Tracking socialisation progress
📌 Tip: Consistent Behaviour Observations can help identify behavioural trends and support intervention strategies when needed.
5. Behaviour Evaluations
Behaviour Evaluations are structured assessments used to determine an animal’s suitability for adoption, fostering, or specialised training programs. Evaluations may include:
Temperament testing
Socialisation assessments
Adoption readiness scoring
📌 Tip: Use Behaviour Evaluations to support decision-making for adoptions or special training needs.
6. Reviewing Past Assessments
To review previous assessments:
Go to the Animal Record.
Open the Assessments section.
Click on an Assessment ID to view detailed information.
Use filters to refine search results based on date range or type.
