Configuration - OpenAI

AnimalOS requires an OpenAI API Key to enable its integration. This guide walks you through the steps to set up and configure OpenAI for use with AnimalOS.

Logging in or Signing Up for OpenAI

To access OpenAI, log in or create an account via the following link:
OpenAI Platform

Once logged in, you can generate an API key for the integration.

Generating an OpenAI API Key

To generate an API Key in OpenAI:

  1. Click the ⚙️ Cog Icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.

  2. Navigate to Project > API Keys.

  3. Complete any verification steps if prompted.

  4. Click Create new secret key.

🔹 Tip: The API Key should be stored securely and never shared. If exposed, it can be disabled by OpenAI for security reasons.

Adding a Payment Method

A payment method is required to activate the API key for use in AnimalOS. Follow these steps to set it up:

  1. Navigate to Organization > Billing in the OpenAI dashboard.

  2. Click Add payment details and follow the prompts.

🔹 Tip: Ensure your billing information is correct to prevent any interruptions in API access.

Once your API key is created and your payment method is set up, you can proceed to integrate OpenAI with AnimalOS.
