Inbound Referrals

The Start Referral process available via the Referrals tab facilitates a structured data flow for inbound animals, the feature allows you to select the type of inbound referral associated with an animal and then directs you to a templated field set based on the key data requirements for that particular referral type.

The feature also helps you to manage duplicate Animals being entered into the system by matching on Microchip Number and Animal ID.

Outbound Referrals

Outbound Referrals can be initiated from the Animal record. There are 2 options:

• Start Adoption - this will create an an Adoption Referral, starting the data flow associated with adopting an Animal. Learn more about the Start Adoption process in this article.

• Refer Animal Out - this will create an Outbound Referral to support all other Outbound Types (reclaims, transfer to council, returned to habitat, etc.). Learn more about the Refer Animal Out process in this article.
